Besides

We don’t make money

Besides has no affiliate links, no display ads, and no paid placement at launch. Buy buttons send you directly to the retailer’s product page with no tracking parameters appended. The redirect goes through a counter so we can measure click-through; nothing more.

Why no affiliate links yet

Launching a new domain with affiliate links is one of the strongest negative signals to search engines. We want to first validate that users find this format useful — pages-viewed, clicks-out, return visits. If the data says yes, we’ll consider monetization. If it says no, the format changes before we ask anyone for money.

What we measure

We hash IPs at write-time and never store raw IPs. We never identify individual users. We never see your purchase.

If and when affiliates change this

When/if we add affiliate links, this page will say so prominently and every buy button will carry an FTC-compliant disclosure. We’d target the same retailers we already link to — multiple retailers, never tied to one — so affiliate revenue can’t bias what we show. How listing and evidence decisions are made will not change.
